About Us
YouGrow CIC is a social enterprise rooted in Exeter, dedicated to creating community gardens and growing spaces that bring people together. Founded in 2022, we are a Community Interest Company (CIC) committed to social inclusion, wellbeing, and environmental responsibility. Our mission is simple yet powerful: to cultivate spaces where communities can connect, learn, and thrive through the shared act of growing food and caring for the environment.
What We Do
We design and lead participatory projects that empower people of all ages and backgrounds to take part in gardening, cooking, and creative community activities. Our gardens are living classrooms and social hubs, offering opportunities for:
- Growing food sustainably – cultivating vegetables, herbs, and flowers with eco-friendly practices.
- Learning and sharing skills – from gardening and composting to cooking and healthy eating.
- Building inclusion and wellbeing – creating safe, accessible spaces where everyone has a role and a voice.
- Strengthening communities – fostering collaboration, creativity, and resilience through shared projects.
Currently, our work includes the Cranbrook Community Garden, where volunteers and residents are building inclusive growing spaces for local families, and the new Beacon Centre Community Garden & Kitchen project, which combines food cultivation with cooking workshops to inspire healthier eating and stronger community connections.
Our Vision
We believe gardens are seeds of change. By growing food together, we grow confidence, friendships, and hope. Our vision is to build lasting community cohesion and wellbeing across Exeter and beyond, while promoting environmental stewardship and sustainable living. Every project we deliver is guided by our values of inclusion, empowerment, and care for the planet.
Why It Matters
Community gardens are more than green spaces – they are catalysts for social change. They reduce isolation, improve health, and give people the tools to shape their own communities. At YouGrow CIC, we are proud to be part of this movement, working alongside volunteers, schools, and local organisations to create spaces where everyone can flourish.
