Gardens and Community Spaces
At YouGrow CIC, our community gardens are more than places to grow food – they are spaces where people grow together. Across Exeter and beyond, we bring neighbours, schools, and volunteers into shared green environments that nurture wellbeing, inclusion, and sustainability. Each garden is designed to be welcoming and accessible, offering opportunities for everyone to connect with nature, learn new skills, and enjoy the simple joy of growing.
Our gardens are living classrooms and vibrant social hubs. They provide fresh produce, wildlife-friendly habitats, and hands-on experiences that empower participants to shape the space themselves. Whether it’s through seasonal workshops, school partnerships, or volunteer-led projects, we cultivate confidence, creativity, and resilience. By embedding sustainable practices such as composting, low-impact construction, and biodiversity planting, we ensure that every garden contributes positively to both people and the planet.
Cranbrook Community Garden
The Cranbrook Community Garden is a thriving space where local residents and volunteers are building raised beds, wildlife-friendly areas, and accessible pathways. It has become a hub for families, schools, and individuals to learn about growing food, share skills, and enjoy the outdoors. Safety and inclusion are central, with clear volunteer briefings and accessible design ensuring everyone feels welcome. The garden is steadily becoming a place of pride for Cranbrook, strengthening community bonds while promoting sustainable living.
Beacon Centre Community Garden & Kitchen
The Beacon Centre Community Garden & Kitchen project is our newest initiative, combining food growing with a shared kitchen space. Here, participants not only cultivate fresh produce but also learn how to prepare healthy meals together, turning harvests into shared experiences. The project is designed to inspire confidence in cooking, encourage healthier eating, and create opportunities for people to connect over food. By linking the garden with the kitchen, we’re fostering a cycle of growth, nourishment, and community connection that extends well beyond the garden gates.
